After the lake was invaded by wolves, the clans were forced to uproot and move once again. Many moons of traveling followed as ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan and ShadowClan desperately tried to find a new place to live. They were malnourished and forced to endure terrible weather, storms and heat to extremes that they had never experienced before. Many cats died due to predators unknown. Many disappeared. The clans considered stopping their search; simply splitting up and becoming loners and kittypets as SkyClan had once done. Soon, all the original leaders that started the search had passed on, and cats who had been there to witness the wolves began to grow old and die off. Only a few select elders from each clan remembered their old home.
Then, it was found.
It had taken the clans fifty moons to find their new home. Three generations. Only four cats remained that remembered the lake: one from each clan. They decided that since the journey had taken so long to complete, and each group of cats had changed so much, that the names of the clans themselves should be changed. And who better to choose those names than the Elders that were living to see their old home? And so it was set. ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, and ShadowClan decided to have one last Gathering with their original names. At the end of the Gathering the Elders would announce the new names of the clans, and those names would be set in stone forever. It wasn't long before that fateful night came.
The first Elder to speak was a ShadowClan tom by the name of Sharptalon. He announced that his clan's new name would be MysteryClan, because of the unknown that came with this new territory, and how it would make them stronger overcoming it. Next came a RiverClan she-cat whose name was Whisperbreeze, who announced that her clan would be re-named RushClan, after the sound the river made in their new territory. The WindClan Elder, Quickfoot, made it known that his clan would be named FleetClan, after its speed. Lastly, there was the frail boned Birdsong, of ThunderClan. She shakily announced that her clan would be renamed EternalClan, in hopes that they would stay in this place forever; a place peaceful and free of twolegs. The she-cat ended up dying the very next day, but did not do so in vain.
The newly named clans left for their camps in silence that night, as if they were sitting vigil after earning a warrior name. Over the next few moons, the rest of the Elders slowly died off, leaving the clans with only stories of their previous home.
Sharptalon, Whisperbreeze, Quickfoot, and Birdsong.
Cats never forgotten.
