Name:
Raptorkit//Raptorpaw//Raptor____
Age: Six Moons
Gender: Tom
Alliance: RushClan
Rank: Apprentice
Outer Beauty: Unlike his littermates, Raptorpaw finds that he lacks in the typical silver tabby style that RushClan tends to uphold. Instead, he looks more like an EternalClan cat, very strange considering neither of his parents had such an extravagant, well camouflaged pelt. I will begin with the under color of his fur. If you look, Raptorpaw's light brown base color really is not as hard to find as you think. This starts off a very complicated, very layered pelt. Next, a very odd aspect of this apprentice, you will find that there is a thin layer of ginger, almost tinted, across his body. It really gives him a full, dark look, even if it is very out of place in his clan. On top of that, the tips of his fur are a lighter brown than his base color, almost highlighting everything else. Last, but certainly not least, Raptorpaw has the classic tabby stripes, from the well known "M", on his forehead, to his bangled tail on the other side. His complicated pelt all falls together into a nice, well blended mixture of color.
Now onto the second, equally important trait of Raptorpaw's appearance: His build. You could easily say that this tom is very muscular, but you could hardly call him large. In fact, height wise, Raporpaw certainly falls short(no pun intended). Yes, his muscles are very well developed, but his legs are what make him the stocky tom he is. Instead of the long, tree trunks of paws most tom's his age have, his are much shorter. Instead of trunks they are more like stumps, their length is what holds Raporpaw's claws back from their true potential. Surely StarClan made them shorter because he would be invincible without them, or, that's at least what he thinks. It was actually one of the reason's he was named so, after the bird of prey. The Raptor's legs may be short, but the long, hooked talons are far from merciful. Get close to either animal and you'd better be careful. I wouldn't know which to be more frightened of.
The rest of Raptorpaw's body is fairly unoriginal. Starting from the bottom, his paws are wide and flat, larger and not proportioned from his body, meaning he is not done growing. His shoulders, wide and sturdy, come just above. As you move down his back, you notice that Raptorpaw is not only fairly short, but is not long either. The length of his body is about the length of his tail, although he isn't done growing yet. Who knows, maybe halfway through apprenticeship he will spring up like a weed! Above his back, you come to this tom's head and neck. His neck, first off, isn't thick enough to look strange or unbalanced. It is simply muscular, like the rest of his body. Raptorpaw has a very strong, sharp jaw, making him appear older, tougher, and more experienced. This could be a flaw or a weakness, of course depending on the situation.
Like many cats, Raptorpaw's eyes are the most unique aspect of his demeanor. Their color, to begin, is just as complicated as his pelt. They reminded his mother of a serpent, but his father more of the bird he was named for. Starting out with a simple green, these eyes look simple if you don't break them down like I do. But as you move deeper, you notice the color gets darker, but only if you can see it in the way most cannot. There are almost specks of darker green over the lighter shade. Next comes the strange gold layer, only noticeable if you have a keen eye. This color blankets lightly, the entire optic, giving it an almost yellow tint. Again, much like Raptorpaw's pelt, if you really search for the minor details you can see the true beauty of his eyes. As far as showing what he feels through these "windows", this apprentice does a fairly good job at hiding his emotions.
Inner Beauty: Raptorpaw's personality is quite unique, if you try not to think of it as strange. First off, you could easily call this tom reserved. He isn't shy by any means, in fact quite the opposite. However, this tom tends to have such a vivid, intelligent imagination he is always thinking about something. He was easily entertained, especially as a kit, with simply pondering things. Raptorpaw is not stuck up, as many are sure to think, just doesn't enjoy conversation as much as most his age. It isn't a weakness, in his opinion, to have a mind constantly doing something as his is. Like I said, he is a very intelligent tom. If someone were to give him a chance, Raptorpaw could make great conversation. Well, just so long as you understood his mature way of joking and thinking. He feels that most of the apprentices are too thick skulled to understand what he was trying to get across anyway.
This brings us to the next trait of Raptorpaw. You couldn't exactly call it arrogance, because he technically never brags out loud. The tom does occasionally feel that some are beneath him, though he never breathes a word to them. His thoughts are filled with his true potential, constantly wondering why he even needs training. Learning by experience has always been Raptorpaw's idea of how to live, and he has yet to learn to respect his mentor's way of thinking the same as his own. The tom won't hesitate to think of a warrior as a mousebrain, especially if he does not feel their skills are up to par. As a kit, Raptorpaw wanted the best, most experienced warrior in the clan as a mentor, simply because otherwise he would eventually yowl at a simpleton for a being an idiot. He got better, actually, having been assigned to the leader himself. The tom is far from happy, though, because the clan leader doesn't seem to value anyone's opinion but his own. The apprentice fails to notice that this is exactly his own way of thinking.
In addition to being hypocritical toward his mentor, Raptorpaw finds that he is rather ambitious. More so than normal, it seems, after all what apprentice doesn't want to become leader? No, this tom takes it to the extreme. He tends to be a brown noser, exactly why he always insults in his mind, not on his tongue. On the outside, Raptorpaw is quite respectful, dipping his head to his elders as well as being kind to Leader and Deputy. His life goal is to become deputy, and hopefully leader someday. In his eyes, RushClan is very lucky he is loyal to his clan, otherwise he would end up killing someone. Raptorpaw wants to get what he wants in life the fair way, by simply being better than everyone else. If practicing until the moon is high in the sky needs to be done, then so be it. And trust me, if its even suggested by a high position, he will do it.
One of the more frightening traits of Raptorpaw would be his strange "urges" to fight. He isn't hot-headed, which can be confusing, but gets a huge adrenaline rush while battling and half the time gets way too into it, even when it is just training. Raptorpaw feels he can defeat a warrior from a different clan any day, even though he is barely of his sixth moon and hasn't even started battle training yet. I see you've glanced at the second paragraph, yes? Well you would be right, his strange thoughts leak into pride, arrogance, and overconfidence when thinking about battle. Raptorpaw is eagerly awaiting his first fight, even a simple border skirmish might satisfy his "thirst" for violence. No matter what happens, though, it will return with vengeance. Its just another one of Raptorpaw's odd, almost scary traits. Hopefully the leader can get this battle hunger out of his system, although I'm not one to doubt his skills.
Past: A litter of three was born into the world exactly six moons ago. Their parents were Slotheye and Rainpelt, two loyal warriors of RushClan. The first and eldest of the litter was a small tom with stunning gray eyes. The tom was named Stonekit because of this. The next kit born was another male, with a pelt that matched neither pelts of his father or mother. He was named Raptorkit. The last was stillborn, but was named Whisperkit, after her white gray pelt, for her time in StarClan. The parents were very proud of their litter, and raised them well. Their father wasn't around much, but tried to visit the Nursery every once and a while. Prey was becoming scarcer, it being Leaf-fall, and Slotheye had much to do as a warrior. Bits and pieces of Rainpelt's personality seemed to rub off on her kits, although Raptorkit acted as though he refused to act anything like her. It was around their third moon the kits began to get into mischief.
One day, Raptorkit was feeling much older than he was. Not like this was abnormal for him, however, he was always trying to act like the mature one, even if he wasn't. He and Stonekit decided it would be smart to sneak out of camp. The plan was hatched, and both of their overdeveloped minds began to plot. By the time they were ready to do things, there was a hole in the back of the Nursery that lead straight out of camp. It was early morning, the best time, they decided. They would be back before Rainpelt woke up. This, obviously, did not go as planned. The brother's were found by the Dawn Patrol, and were being carried back to camp when the foxes attacked.
There were only two of them, yes, but two foxes could still deal out a decent amount of wounds to a patrol of only four cats. An apprentice by the name of Goldenpaw stood in front of the two kits, trying to protect them. He did not, however, notice the third fox coming up from behind. The patrol was outnumbered by strength, and there were not enough cats to protect the kits, who refused to run away when told. One of the foxes got past Goldenpaw, grabbing Stonekit in his jaws and shaking ferociously. The fox then ran off, carrying Raptorkit's brother in his jaws. Stonekit was proclaimed dead the next day, leaving a devastated mother, father, and brother. It wasn't Raptorkit's fault, it was a neutral decision, but he still felt guilty and scared, still having been young at the time.
Little did RushClan know that Stonekit was in fact alive, but barely. The fox got bored with him, dropping his unconscious body near the MysteryClan boarder. The cats from the marshes took the kit, thinking it was just another way to strengthen their clan. Stonekit was renamed Chasmkit, after the "depth" his eyes showed when they were first opened when he came to. The tom does not remember the fox at all, having lost memory from his injuries. Now Chasmpaw, MysteryClan has never told him where he was found, and he thinks his mother is Flowersoul, the cat who offered to take him in for a short amount of time before becoming apprenticed. Raptorpaw of course has accepted that Stonekit is dead, and assumes he will never be seen again.
