Picture for me, if you will, a rather tall cat. Imagine a scrawny frame perched on legs as thin as twigs, and a pelt that, though sleek, still has a little bit of kit fluff sticking out in certain places. The cat described has average-sized ears, rounded slightly at the tips. Her tail is long and plumed, resembling feathers of a bird and feeling as soft as chick downy. Tiny paws hold this cat up, so small that her steps are light as, well, a feather. Round eyes are placed on an adorable, still kitten-like face, with a tiny nose placed in a perfect position. Long whiskers flow out of her muzzle like strands of hair, constantly twitching with the kitten's amusement.
Now, with the frame visualized, it is safe to move on to coloring. Acelyn's base fur color is white, plain and simple. Patches of silver cover her back, legs, and ears. Darker stripes run across the silver patches, and those areas alone, and appear rather faded against the light gray shade. While the silver tabby is only across the cat's body in a few places, her entire tail is silver with stripes barely a shade darker. Her nose, placed perfectly on a small white muzzle, is a shade of baby pink. Her claws, though hidden by their sheathes, are long and pointed, colored like a black night sky. Acelyn's eye color isn't completely unique, though it complete's her appearance very nicely. Her eyes are a dark shade of blue. Sometimes, depending on the lighting, they almost appear to be purple, even though they aren't.
There are a few minor details to Acelyn that not many notice. For example, right above her eye there is a small sliver of a scar. It blends in so well with her white fur, though, that it's not something that others catch up on very often. A few tufts of hair stick out from her ears, making her look like a bobcat or lynx at times. The tips of Ace's underbelly fur is black, but only in the middle. Her teeth, though they are still slightly developing, have the same sting that kit-teeth do when she bites someone. Most of her features are the same way; kit-like, or underdeveloped.
Inner Beauty:
Acelyn is a kit on the outside. Honestly, she's the exact same way on the inside as well. Her head is "filled with rainbows and butterflies," and I mean that literally. Acelyn is extremely care-free, even after all that has happened in her life. In a way, she's a bit of an air-head. Acelyn won't think before rushing into a situation. For her, the first solution is always the right one, and she doesn't take the time to ponder the problem after she finds one answer. She's confident on the outside, but rather shy on the inside. If you catch her running around and chasing butterflies, she stops as soon as she realizes you're there. It's very difficult to get one word out of her, and when you hear her melodic voice once, you're most likely not going to hear it again. Acelyn doesn't like talking to others; she prefers to keep her thoughts and feelings to herself.
Her mind is her best friend. Literally. Acelyn will spend all day beside a tree or a stream, and she'll just let herself go. She'll let her mind take her away from the forest, and to a place that she wants the world to be. Most cats will probably catch Acelyn staring off into space with her dark blue eyes completely glazed over. When she's like this, Acelyn is completely oblivious to the world around her. The only way to snap her out of it is to prod her with your paw. It only takes once, but once Acelyn realizes that you're there, she bolts off like a frightened fawn. To her, the real-world isn't perfect, in fact it's not even close. She hates the way the world is, and that's why she often retreats to her mind. It's safer there, better there.
Acelyn prefers to be alone, which is one of the main reasons she's a loner. She loves not feeling the pressure of having others watching her. The only time she's really herself is when no one's eyes are on her. She'll chase butterflies, or her tail, too. She'll run around in circles for no reason. Acelyn feels very self-concious at times, like others won't accept her for who she really is. She believes that if she never shows her true colors to cats, it'll save her from the rejection. Acelyn's completely perfect scenario is just herself, and her dreams. It's not that Acelyn hates other cats, mostly she's just scared of them. Or, more like their words, their sharp opinions. One thing Acelyn hates is to be judged. All she wants is to meet someone that won't criticize her, or size her up. Any cat that can do that for her will have earned her trust instantly.
Past:
Fade in on two cats: a tom with a pelt as black as night, and a she-cat with fur like a burning flame. The tom, a former kittypet, smiles at the she-cat, a beautiful young loner, confesses that she is expecting his kits. A happy picture, no? Nope. The tom has a secret; he is growing ill, and he feels symptoms of blackcough. The she-cat doesn't know until a whole moon later, when she finds her mate coughing up blood, inches from death. It's far too late, and the once strong, muscular black tom passes in his sleep that night, his loyal mate with her plump belly by his side. The she-cat buries him, and stays near his grave until the pregnancy is finished, and finds herself responsible for three young kits. There's Blair, the spitting image of his father with his sleek black pelt. Payson, lean and beautiful in every way, resembles her mother with a firey red pelt. Finally, there's Acelyn. She even looked different, with her oddly multi-colored pelt. The she-cat loved them all dearly.
Two moons later, the kits have had their eyes open for about a moon. Blair already was showing how muscular his build would be. He was the protector, constantly staying by both Payson and Acelyin's sides. He proved to be the most loyal brother the forest would ever see, though, when he gave his life for little Acelyn. The three of them had been playing, well, Acelyn was more staring, when Blair suddenly hissed. Him and Payson were fluffing up viciously. Acelyn looked at them, and then saw what had caught their attention. A fox stared at them, bloodlust glinting in black, deep pits of eyes. Blair refused to move until Payson was able to coax Acelyn away, but by then it was too late. Blair was carried off by the fox, never to be seen again. Acelyn, surprisingly enough, didn't react much at all. She would simply stare up at the sky all those nights after. Payson was mad at her, and their mother had fallen into a state of depression. On the outside, Acelyn didn't seem to care.
More time goes by, three moons to be exact. Payson and Acelyn are five moons old. Payson, though, is not well. With Leafbare upon them, it was only natural that one kit would get a cough. Payson was that one. Their mother tried their very best to care for her, doing for her daughter what she couldn't do for her mate. Acelyn did nothing. Day after day, she found herself staring into space, images of her brother and father in her mind. Though she had never seen her father, her mother said that Blair was just like him, so she merely pictured an older version of Blair. She ignored her mother as she screamed madly at her, the loss of most of her family clearly driving her to insanity. When Payson finally passed, Acelyn's mother was devastated.
One moon passes. The whole time gone by, Acelyn's mother never said a word to her. Acelyn didn't mind. Her mother would catch her food, and she'd lay it at her paws, but they wouldn't speak to each other. Acelyn spent most of the time in her mind. Payson had visited her many times. In her mind, Acelyn's sister had forgiven her. It was strange, for Acelyn didn't notice when one day, her mother just walked away and didn't come back. She just continued on, managing to learn to hunt for herself, but barely. She enjoyed the silence. She enjoyed the solitude. Not long after her mother's death, though, Acelyn's family no longer visited her mind. Though she wondered why, it started to not matter to her. She had herself. She had her dreams. That was all she would ever need.

The shade of the oak tree brought a comfort to Acelyn on that warm Greenleaf day. Some strands of sunlight managed to cascade through the branches, but for the most part the she-cat remained cool. Her fluffy pelt was doused with sweat from walking so far. The tree was a saving grace for her. A tiny pink tongue just barely poked from her muzzle, and her side rose and fell as she panted from so much exhaustion. Oh, how good it felt to just relax. Her day had been filled to the brim with walking about for ages, trying to find water and not be found by others. The young fae had dodged many cats that day, desperate to not be seen or heard. With the pressure of the situation out of the way, Acelyn allowed herself to lounge beneath the massive oak, and finally, her mind could wander freely.
The sky was pink with the sunset, the stream beside her flowing freely and smoothly. Acelyn purred softly, flicking her plumed tail. This was perfect. No foxes were in sight. The weather wasn't cold enough for illness. It was just her. Her and the butterflies of a million colors, fluttering beside her face and landing on her tail. Acelyn smiled, flicking her tail so the fragile butterfly would take flight again. Once it did, Acelyn was hot on its trail, trotting after it so she could keep pace. Her dark blue eyes were alight with a silent laughter. It wouldn't be difficult to catch the flying creature, no not at all. Teasing the butterfly was just so joyful. It wouldn't suspect her at all when she finally pounced.
Acelyn's paws left the floor, and she found herself flying towards the creature. In a swift second, she had the blue butterfly pinned beneath her paws. She smiled down at it, when her face suddenly became one of pity. Poor butterfly. It didn't deserve to be held back, forced in a spot against its will. Acelyn immediately removed her paws, allowing the little insect to fly off again, its blue wings beginning to blend in with the perfect blue sky. As Acelyn watched it go, she found herself wondering why her own world wasn't like this. Why were there foxes, if they only caused pain? Why would their be leafbare, after all, if it was a season of death? In fact, why was there death all together? Why couldn't they just go on, forever living, no death able to plaque a family?
Because the real world needs to be that way, she remided herself. Otherwise, there'd be no reason to come here. I wouldn't have my own safe place, I'd have to share it with the rest of them. Not to be selfish, but some cats out there don't deserve this. Acelyn blinked slowly. Her mother didn't deserve to be there, she had started to hate Acelyn for no reason. She was the reason Blair and Payson didn't visit her in her world anymore. She was the reason she couldn't see her father. Acelyn was not one to feel a loathing emotion toward another cat, but the thought of her mother just infuriated her. How could she seperate Acelyn from the only cats she could ever really, truly love?
Acelyn sighed, closing her eyes for a moment. She'd had enough time there. She needed to wake up; another presence was near, she could feel their pawsteps. When her eyes opened again, Acelyn was beneath the oak tree. Sure enough, she caught sight of a dark brown tom watching her from the grass. Acelyn gaped, wide-eyed and fearful, before she got to her paws. No, why were they here? Maybe she was in this cat's space. In that case, she had to leave. Now. Acelyn didn't hesitate, she turned tail and bolted through the trees, ignoring the tom's confused calls. She didn't stop running, no, not until she could feel no one beside her, couldn't scent another cat. Here she was safe. Sighing, Acelyn allowed herself to lay down again, breathing deeply with a need for water.
