All of the things that I want to say just aren't coming out right, I'm tripping on words M O L T E N S T A R You've got my head spinning I don't know where to go from here
It wasn't dark. In fact, not at all; the sun was high in the sky, even forcing its way through the thick, leafy treetops of EternalClan territory. Birds sang, and the forest was in fact full of life. Even the felines of this noble clan were up and about, patrolling, hunting and doing whatever else they could do to help. The time of day was probably nearing Sunhigh. Everywhere was crowded today; The Sunlit Clearing, StarClan's Oak, and even Adder Field. Everywhere, that is, except for one place:
The Never Ending Stream.
A fairly average looking tom was padding silently along the edge of the water, his paws close, moving with the current as to keep them dry. His fur was simple; he was an orange tabby like the great Firestar himself. It didn't seem as though the tom looked proud to wear such a reminder of the hero, though, in fact he looked quite down. He was staring at the ground, and his tail was drooping, yet he didn't allow himself to get wet, and continued to pace the edge of the stream as if thinking deeply about something. Whether he was or not was for the bystander to figure out for himself.
"Let's go for a stroll, it would be good for me to get some fresh air." The meow was warm and comforting as Moltenheart looked up, happiness glowing in his eyes, nodding. The strong smell of milk and the cries of small kits made his heart swell. The she-cat in front of him was perfect in his stunning gaze, and always would be. She was a beautiful light brown tabby, and heavy with kits. His kits. The anticipation of their birth was nearly suffocating him, and Moltenheart was doing everything in his power to keep them safe. "That would be lovely, my beautiful mate." He purred, giving Fallingfeather's ear an affectionate lick. The warrior could see nothing wrong with a simple, evening walk with the cat he loved. They would only stay out until the sun went down before returning for the night. Fallingfeather was right, after all, exersise was good while pregnant.
Moltenstar didn't usually get irritated. Well, you couldn't exactly call this irritated, the emotion he was feeling. It wasn't complete depression, at least not now, but it was testing his nerves and ruining his day; especially since the leader couldn't figure out exactly what he was feeling. Quite abruptly, Moltenstar stopped pacing and padded away from the water. It had only been a quarter moon since the last Gathering, and no clan really had much to share. The EternalClan leader was sure that at least one clan had something they could have said, but this patch was the most stubborn there has been in moons. No life was perfect, the tom knew. Well, knew wasn't exactly a good word to describe it. Something like.. experienced.. would cover exactly how he knew.
Moltenheart looked up, Silverpelt was shining brightly above him, as if smiling. This was the only place to see the stars properly: the Sunlit Clearing. His stunning gaze moved to the she-cat next to him, who was also gazing upwards. They met eyes, and it was as if they fell in love all over again. Moltenheart moved closer to her, pressing his pelt into her's. Fallingfeather purred, pressing her nose into his fur. The tom didn't want her to pull away, and to his delight she didn't, not for a long time. It was these moments that made Moltenheart fall for her. "I love you," He murmured in her ear, "We'll be together forever. You, me, and our kits."
Moltenstar recalled the night that it had happened. This was something he thought about often, and felt a mix of emotions because of. It was mostly grief, of course, but also came with anger, confusion, and sometimes even hatred. Moltenstar had never imagined his brother, his only brother, would turn on him in such a way. Lionroar had not been seen since then, luckily, but Fallingfeather would never return. The emotion that swept over Moltenstar this time was clear, the sadness that he felt every time his beloved mate's name crossed his mind.
"Do you promise?" The sound of her voice made the tom's heart leap with joy. She was looking into his eyes again, what a great feeling it was to be with her. Moltenheart never felt the same when they were apart. "Of course, my darling. I would never leave you." The purr filled the silence of the night air. It was so... perfect! The stars were shining, the grass around them was swaying with a lovely breeze that ruffled the two tabbies' pelts. Fallingfeather turned away for a moment, scenting the air. She looked troubled, "I think we should go back..." Her meow was wary, but not frightful, as if she were protecting someone other than herself; like the kit in her belly. Moltenheart gazed into her eyes, worried and confused. He had thought they were having such a great time... The tom placed his tail on her shoulder, "Don't be afraid, I'm here for you."
Moltenstar sat, or rather, plopped, onto the ground. It was cool from the morning, and the leaves made as almost bedding for the tom. All he wanted was to curl up and fall asleep. Forever.
But he couldn't do that to her. status; finished puppet; moltenstar word count; 909 muse; sort of suckish. the paragraphs are pathetic x.x lyrics; you and me, lighthouse other; I love how I start a post with little to no muse just because I want to RP

R U S S E T P A W even the man in the moon somewhere in the stratosphere TELL MY MOTHER, TELL MY FATHER, I'VE DONE THE BEST I CAN.________________________ Patrols were jolly good fun. That is, if you liked whining apprentices and annoyed mentors that is. Both had a problem with the other. Some apprentices whined as if the whole clan depended on them. They have no idea of the world out there. They knew nothing of the perils some of their brethren had to face. It was odd how self-centered you are as a kit, yet so humble when you finally achieved a higher rank. At least, that’s what Russetpaw had managed to wrap her thoughts and beliefs around.
Her small head was raised, staring at the cool shading of the trees. Why she had to be picked for the patrol that placed her in the direct sunlight on this burning hot day, she would never know. Well she would. Moltenstar probably helped the deputy pick the patrols since nothing of interest had happened lately. None of the other clans seemed to be attacking. ‘Probably planning and waiting’ Russetpaw thought nonchalantly. Her serpent like eyes watched as the head of the patrol sniffed the air for signs of any other clans scents. Sure, the adder field was filled with….well adders, but it did have some lovely rock to laze about on.
They spent only a while here, quickly heading back to camp. None of the scents around there belonged to any intruding cats. ’Or badgers..’ Russetpaw thought, taking a small peek at her sister Lilypaw before letting her gaze look straight once more. Sure it had been two moons since the passing of her brother, but they were still on the lookout. A badger was a threat to all and every cat knew that. Except Russetpaw’s brother it seemed.
She let herself plop down in the cool cave that belonged to the apprentices. Her sister let herself slump to the ground with relief. It’s not everyday you patrol two areas. Really and truly, they should have been much more excited, like the apprentices that sat and chatted outside, despite the heat. Maybe it’s because they had to deal with death. Russetpaw’s earlier thoughts of how annoying her fellow denmates were seemed to come rushing back. They didn’t know what it was like to lose a family member. Of course, she hadn’t wanted to get close to anyone else except her family, no matter how interesting they were. She was comfortable with just being around those who shared her grief. Of course, Russetpaw wasn’t saying she had a much harder life than any warrior, but she was much more experienced than her fellow apprentices, that’s for sure.
A loud call echoed through the cave, but Lilypaw made no movements.Russetpaw on the other hand allowed herself to find the source of the noise.Convienently it stood right outside. Her mentor had called her for something important it seemed. Well apparently it wasn’t that important
Minutes later Russetpaw was tracking the scent of a vole. Her fur blended in at random moments, not truly being of use at this moment. When the sun was setting, Russetpaw would have a jolly good time hunting.Until then she would just have to make do. Her scent trail stopped at a large bush. What she smelt beyond it was Eternalclan cat and vole. If Russetpaw wanted to continue hunting she would have to go past this cat. Really and truly, she didn't want to talk that much right now.Although it wouldn't hurt if she could hunt with someone who didn't want to talk as well. She pushed her way through and saw the form of Moltenstar. "Oh great, and it's not like I can hide now,he is the leader of our clan"Russetpaw muttered.

You'll always be my thunder, And I said your eyes are the brightest of all colors M O L T E N S T A R I don't want to ever love another, So bring on the rain
Moltenstar heard a noise. It wasn't a very... natural noise, either. It wasn't a simple crack of a stick, or a call of a bird. No, the EternalClan leader heard something else: breathing. Confused, Molentstar lifted his head and scanned the area, but there was no one there. He scented, but the apprentice was downwind from him and he could not detect anything but the regular smells of the forest. The tom rested his head on his paws. Perhaps he had just imagined it. It had been maybe three heartbeats before Moltenstar's head jerked upwards again. No, this time he was sure he had heard someone speaking. He couldn't make out what they were saying, or who it was directed to, but they were certainly speaking.
A soft purr was whispered into his ear, "Ok, I'll stay for a bit longer," The she-cat gazed up at the stars, "I suppose it is a beautiful night..." Moltenheart gave his mate a fond look before looking at the sky as well. Neither said anything for a while, it was as if uttering a word would ruin the elegance of the moment. The Moon was beginning to rise higher, it obviously no longer being dusk. No, they had been on their walk since the sun began to go down. Surely, Moltenheart thought, the exhaustion in the morning would be worth it. He pressed himself closer to Fallingfeather, having never felt so content in his life.
Moltenstar rose stiffly to his paws. Was the cat talking to themselves? There were either two of them, or the one was acting rather different. The tom assumed the cat was from his clan, but couldn't think of many he had heard talking to themselves. Occasionally the Medicine Cat would be found mumbling something about herbs, but that was understandable. There were so many things jammed into the head of those cats, they were sure to say things out loud for memory. Moltenstar waited a few more moments for the cat to appear, not looking directly where he heard the noise. Soon, Russetpaw revealed herself. For a moment, the leader looked at her, as if reminding himself who she was. He knew very well who the apprentice was, obviously, but was having a rather odd day himself. Moltenstar wouldn't have been surprised if he had forgotten who she was.
Something broke the silence, and the two cats lifted there heads. A twig had been cracked, which was followed by a rustle of some leaves. Those noises were not something a regular mouse would make. Moltenheart stood, confused, but not afraid. What could possibly be out here that was so dangerous? Brilliant eyes scanned the trees, waiting for something to reveal itself. "Who is there?" His meow was loud, strong, and confident. Moltenheart felt Fallingfeather brush his fur, standing next to him with a worried look in her eyes. He ran his tail down her flank comfortingly, "Go on, reveal yourself!" There was another rustle, followed by a dark figure. Moltenheart could not tell who it was, they were sticking close to the shadows, and he did not recognize the scent. Fallingfeather spoke what the tom was thinking, "Who are you?"
Moltenstar closed his eyes for a moment, shaking his head slightly to rid himself of such thoughts. He forced himself to control his emotions, opening his eyes with a content expression. Moltenstar tried to do this, he didn't exactly want his clan to see him upset all the time. He would rather act, getting them to move along with their happy lives. "Hello, Russetpaw." The tom meowed, "Out for a bit of hunting?" Moltenstar narrowed his eyes against a ray of light that squeezed itself through the branches of the territory; the sun was moving. How long had he been out here? The leader looked at Russetpaw, eyes seemingly curious, wanting to know what the apprentice was doing. Moltenstar did wonder, actually. The clan needed prey and if she wasn't hunting, he would tell her to.
The shadow padded slowly into the moonlight. At first, Moltenheart did not recognize him; he was an orange tabby, covered in scars with fierce, angry green eyes. He looked familiar, the warrior couldn't help but think. The cat looked... like his brother... Moltenheart shook off the thought, grief flooding his gaze. No... Lionroar was dead, killed by a rouge. Suddenly, the shadow leaped at his mate, eyes filled with fury and hatred. Fallingfeather fell to the ground, fighting for all she was worth considering her condition. Moltenheart hesitated only a moment, leaping at the attacker and knocking him off her. Soon, the intruder was pinned, and the EternalClan warrior's eyes widened, "Lionroar?"
Moltenstar looked away for a moment, hiding his suddenly emotion filled eyes. He didn't want the apprentice to see, she had a right to feel her leader was perfect. Everyone had a right to believe that. The tom had wished for moons that Fallingfeather could be with him again, but that would never happen. Moltenstar knew this, and his brother was still out there somewhere, probably plotting his next strike. If the EternalClan leader ever saw that battle scarred pelt again... He wanted to unsheath his claws, but wouldn't allow himself to do so.
Moltenstar knew the act, and wasn't about to ruin things for his clan. status; finished puppet; moltenstar word count; 896 muse; ok, not my best, but ok lyrics; thunder, boys like girls other; I thought your post was good, ms ramen noodles. So there.

R U S S E T P A W even the man in the moon somewhere in the stratosphere TELL MY MOTHER, TELL MY FATHER, I'VE DONE THE BEST I CAN.________________________ If she had just decided to go around or something, she wouldn't have to deal with this. Well really and truly it couldn't be seen as a problem. Russetpaw always found Moltenstar to be a great leader.Even if he did suck at helping his deputy pick patrols every once in a while. At least he tried to be among us. Sure he was still distant and such, but at least he talked to his warriors and ever once in a while he would talk to the random apprentice. Sure Russetpaw was very nosy, but she never figured out why he was so distant. Even a mouse-brained rogue could tell something horrible had happened to him. Her own yellow-green eyes watched him curiously. He seemed to look at her as if she was a stranger. 'sure I've never had the honor I should say of talking to him,he shouldn't treat me like some random loner.I am part of his clan' Russetpaw thought, letting her superior attitude take over her thoughts once more. She really needed to control that problem I tell you. .
