Why, hello! If you're reading this thread, then you are obviously wanting to be part of our team at Fear. I'm glad you're interested! First off, understand that every member of the Staff, whether you are a Moderator or the Co-Owner, is very very important. Don't be upset if I give you a position with not as many responsibilities, because I promise we need you. Use the template at the bottom to audition, pick two situations, and tell me how you would handle each of them. If you are trying out, keep in mind you could get any one of the positions listed below. Good luck to all! In Order to Try Out: 1. You must have an accepted character. 2. You must be active. 3. Making announcements 6. Playing "Site Owner" when I'm not on xD[/blockquote][/blockquote] Situation #1: The Nasty PM Dear Stupid,
This site sucks. It should go die somewhere far away, and take its members with it. First off, that Scorpia chick is a bitch. She is mean, and nasty, and smells really really bad. My bio wasn't accepted the day I wrote it, and should have been! Who cares if my cat can fly, and has superhuman powers. It is a fantasy rpg! So, like I said, you all need to go jump off a cliff into a burning pit of fire.
Congrats, you pissed me off.
-The Hunchback
[[You reply to the PM]]
Situation #2: The Noob [/u][/blockquote] Last week, Fear got a new member. This member wrote a bio that had two sentences per section, and then started RPing with that character without them being accepted. She powerplays in every post she makes. This new member seems like a nice person, and doesn't mean any harm, but it is obvious this site is wayyy to advanced for her, and that she doesn't really understand how RPs work. How do you handle this?
Situation #3: The Bio From Hell Explain in the nicest way possible what to do to this new member's bio in order for it to be accepted.
Name:Bigfish age: 3 Clan: starCLAN Appearance: bigfish is real big. he is so big. no one beleeves how bg he is. his fur is long and not evr groomed. under da fer is hard scales 2 pertect his body. if you bite him all you get is a mouthful of scales! (omg is that just so funny!!!!!!!! I came up with that idea when I was doing my homework) bigfishs fur is brown and purple swirled together. he is the best hunter and fighter in the world. he killed eight foxes all at once just by looking at dem.
Personality: real real real real real MEAN! he is a real butthead. he eats kits, and sometimes small apprentices. he evn eated his own kits.
history: A MYSTERY
Situation #4: The Hunchback Returns The Hunchback, the guy who sent you that nasty PM, has come back. He is spamming up the site and cbox like crazy, as well as PMing members about how suckish and stupid they are. He keeps threatening to report the forum. How do you stop him and clean up his mean posts before something really bad happens, and how do you calm the members down if any are upset?

Username: lightbulb Display Name: Lightbulb Names of your character(s): Misthawk Experience: I have been a "deputy" on another Warriors roleplaying site on and off for the past four years, which includes both moderating and administrative tasks. I handled the site contests for a while, as well as duties including watching the site when the leader is away, approving cat profiles, making announcements, working on plot development, etc. I tend to act as a mediator for potential conflicts, hopefully stopping them before they start, and I try to keep things running smoothly with overall success. (Of course, much of the credit for that belongs to my fellow staff members!) ----- Situation #1: How would you handle the situation you chose? This is the sort of PM that I would typically send in response to such a letter. Dear Hunchback,
I find it deeply unfortunate that you feel this way about our site. However, rest assured that we are doing the best we can to maintain a really high-quality site. Scorpia works very hard and is very good at what she does. Sadly, it seems that your interests do not coincide with those promoted on this site, as cats with super-powers such as those of flight are not encouraged or even allowed here at all. In coming to our site and posting a bio, you indicated that you would follow the site rules and act according to the spirit of those rules, which unfortunately you have not. With your rude and offensive language, as well as your impatience, you have flouted the rules of OoC conduct, and with your extravagant "powers" you have flouted the IC rules of this site. I suggest that you leave this site and find another geared more towards fantastic cats, rather than a semi-realistic roleplaying site. Consider this an official request and, indeed, an official warning: If you persist in your unacceptable behavior you will be banned from the site.
Sincerely,
Lightbulb.Situation #3:This is the post I would make in response to this bio. Hi! My name is Lightbulb or Lighty, and I'm a *insert staff position* here. Welcome to Fear! First of all, if you haven't yet make sure to check out all the informational pages on the Rules and Potluck boards! It's full of really useful information to help you familiarize yourself with the site. I know that it can be pretty confusing at first, so feel free to message me with any questions!
Secondly, I'd like to ask you to read this thread here! This has the standard bio form for Fear, and instructions on how to fill it out. Since you seem to be a little bit confused, I'll explain to you how to edit your bio into the kind we use here!
One thing that we consider to be really important on this site is literacy, or proper spelling, grammar, capitalization, punctuation, etc. So when you make a bio, it's important to pay attention to the spell-check and to reread your bio for any mistakes in grammar! Everyone makes typos- the goal is to make as few as possible! If you need someone to help proofread, let me know and I can help you out. You could also look up different words for "big" to use, to make your bio more interesting! For example, describing Bigfish as "humongous," "colossal," or "enormous" is much more interesting than "big," "big," and "big!"
Another important factor in a bio is that they match the book series that this site is based off of. I assume that you've read the Warriors books since most people here have, but let me know if you haven't and I can give you some useful links to sites explaining how things work! For example, cats measure their ages in moons, or months, so instead of being 3 years old Bigfish would be 36 moons old.
Also, he cannot be in StarClan (note the capitalization there), because StarClan is the dead cats! There are only a few StarClan positions here, and you need a special application for those. Instead, Bigfish should be in EternalClan, RushClan, FleetClan, or MysteryClan. I think that he would be a good fit for RushClan, because they live by a river, so they swim and fish a lot!
It is also not possible on this site for Bigfish to have scales or purple fur, sorry! We stick to the Warriors books as closely as possible, so except for talking cats on this site should all be perfectly normal. Instead, maybe his name could come from how much he loves fish? For a RushClan cat, that would be perfect!
In addition, in order for your bio to be accepted you're going to have to make it a bit longer. Minimum lengths for each section and descriptions of what they should include are listed on the thread that I linked to above. For example, skipping his past isn't allowed here because you need at least four paragraphs about his history. You could tell the story of how he managed to hide his evil from his Clan, since of course if he'd been caught killing kits he would have been thrown out! Since it would be a really difficult secret to keep, there's definitely at least four paragraphs to write there. For the personality section, you could explain why he killed his kits, because to do something like that a cat would have to have a pretty serious reason! And of course, how sneaky he is, and how he learned to be so cunning.
Lastly, since we aim to be as realistic as possible on this site, Bigfish will have to be a little less powerful, since of course it's impossible for a regular cat to kill eight foxes by looking at them! He can be very big and strong, but not even the biggest and strongest real cat can take on more than one fox by himself.
Again, welcome to Fear and please feel free to message me or any other staff member with any questions, and do check out the boards I suggested, they're extremely useful! I look forward to seeing your revised bio!
